Let us know when your reporting guideline is published
Once your reporting guideline is published, please tell us. The EQUATOR Network regularly searches the literature for new guidelines, but we can’t catch everything, particularly guidelines published in smaller journals, in languages other than English, or without “reporting guideline” in the title or abstract. Hearing directly from you means your guideline can be added to our database quickly and accurately.
Why it’s worth telling us
- Your guideline will be listed in the EQUATOR Network’s database of reporting guidelines, where researchers, editors, peer reviewers and funders look for guidance.
- It will be easier for authors and journals to find, which supports uptake and use.
- We can check that the details we hold are correct and that the checklist links to a freely accessible version.
- We can keep your entry up to date if you later publish a translation, extension, or updated version.
What to send us
Please contact us with the subject line “New reporting guideline” and include:
- The full citation of the guideline publication, including a DOI or link to the article
- A link to the checklist, ideally one that is freely accessible and downloadable
- A link to the Explanation and Elaboration document, if you have published one
- Details of any other publications of the guideline (for example, simultaneous publication in other journals) and any translations
- The study type, topic, or clinical area the guideline applies to
- A contact person for queries about the guideline (name and email address)
- A link to a guideline website or any supporting resources, if applicable
When to contact us
Ideally, as soon as your guideline is published or accepted for publication.
Updates, translations and extensions
Please also contact us if:
- you publish a revised or updated version of your guideline
- your guideline is translated into another language
- an extension or adaptation of your guideline is published
- your website changes
